Who We Are
Nafɔlan (Na fɔ lan) is from the Krio language of Sierra Leone which means “you should learn”. Inspired by a lack of language materials in Krio and Twi for our son, we created Nafɔlan out of the desire to see more learning resources for children in the African diaspora in their ‘mother tongues’, to connect them to their cultural roots. We understand that language is a vital component of any culture and is part of a rich heritage that should be passed down throughout generations.
Although we only have three languages for now, we are developing great new resources in other languages too. Our hope is that whether you are purchasing these flashcards for a child in your life, or whether you are using them for yourself to brush up on your language skills and amaze family and friends, you will find this resource simple to use but most importantly fun. If there are any languages you’d like for us to add, we’d love to hear from you: info@nafolan.com.
